Paolo Conte, un international myth
Paolo Conte, world-wide famous songwriter and singer, was born in January1937. His early commitment to jazz music and to figurative arts led himto write songs which soon become tremendous hits, such as "La coppiapiù bella de mondo", "Azzurro", "Insieme conte non ci sto più", "Tripoli '69", "Messico enuvole", "Genova per noi".
His first album, "Paolo Conte",is dated 1974 and a second album immediately followed tin 1975. Two yearsafter his third album, "Paris Marilonga", the Tenco Club in Sanremosuccessfully organises a "Paolo Conte's day". In 1982 a new album,"Appunti di Viaggio", collects all his best hits and preparesthe way to a new greater success: the second "Paolo Conte" album,dated 1984. As 10 years before, it's a hit.
In his Paris tour, all of France is conqueredby his music. A few years later, after his new album "Aguaplano"of 1987, new tours introduce him to an enthusiast European public first,then to American one, in New York, at the "Blue Note", the templeof American jazz. It's a new triumph, and from then on success will be greaterand greater.
Paolo Conte's music is a poetry of imagesand emotions, a peculiar charm of spiritual, elegant, sinuous rhythms mixedto hot jazz, crazy, bawdy, still very human accents.
